Alright cool I just didn't want it catchin on somethin in the woods and openin up ya know, I rarely go off the roads anyways, I already ordered my stuff I'll pry get one next time budget is tight tryin to get some nice stuff before the National diesel event in march

Yeah if you look, you'll see that you hafta push out while pulling the lever down. there's no way it's gonna accidently open up.

If you are really worried the manufacturer suggests this:

Warning:
For users under extreme conditions:
If you are using the Engine Oil Drain Valve on off-road vehicles such as farm tractors and logging equipment under extreme environment (i.e. corn fields, brush areas), it is recommended that a 5/8" hose clip as shown below be used for extra safety and security. The hose clip, which can be purchased at any hardware stores, will firmly keep the lever in the locked position at all times.

It is tucked up behind the front axle pretty good. I am in brush and snags cutting wood haven't had any problems.
