Do you guys have a part number for the cover that goes over the filter?

 

+1 on the filter sock.. I am searching my dealer site, but its not completely user freindly

 

Got it.. EaPF15.. they call it a pre-filter. The have sizes for each individual filter size. If anyone is interested pm for cost details

 

I wonder what this is going to sound like if I remove the silencer ring too???

 

Bought all my parts today.. should be on within a week or so. Cannot wait for the turbo whistle

 

Anyone tried this on a second generation? The turbo intake tube is only 4 inches so the 6 inchfilter won't fit.

Amsoil makes a filter that will fit the 2nd gereations 4 inch tube but I'm wondering if modifying the 6 inch version is worth the trouble to get more turbo sound?

I haven't done the BHAF yet Bob, but I too was thinking about it. I already have teh K&N intake hose though and I think it's 4", but not sure.

 

I tried and broke off a screwdriver. Luckily no damage to anything other than the screwdriver. I then talked myself out of it thinking the truck is already loud enough as is.

Here's a guy who has no fears whatsoever of ripping his entire suspension apart and doing it all up and yet is a little nervous about removing a silencer ring?

Look ... to make this job a helluva lot easier on ya, ALL you have to say to yourself the next time you try it is this ...

" Hell if Mayfair did it, I KNOW this is going to be easy. That guy can't screw in a lightbulb !! "

Really Bob, it isn't that bad and if you don't like the way it sounds, it goes back in easier than it comes out. Do you want me to post some pics?
