OK! It's comming out! I think mine was been spot welded in, but it is comming out, espescially if it will go back in! My truck is already LOUD and it gets annoying on some of the long trips I go on, the exhaust brake doesn't help the noise either. Maybe the extra whistle will cancle out the engine noise.

Just work a little screwdriver under the ring and give it a little twist with another driver

If you want it back in, just re-install the split ring. If you are at all worried about buggering up the turbo, put a little blue painters tape under the area where you start the screwdriver. You'll be fine though, and just rememer

Does removing the ring hurt performance at all, increase it, or no change?

 

Zero change at all.

All removing the ring does is make your turbo louder. Has no impact whatsoever as far as gains or looses. It just makes your truck sound cool.

 

Got all my parts in today, except the pre filter.. I will be installing this weekend.. I am gonna paint the metal tubing Home Depot/Tony Stewart Orange!!! Don't worry Mayfair, I will get pics. I can tell you already, you don't quite understand the scope of how big this tubing and filter is until you have it in your hands, man this thing is gonna breath easy.

Any1 running this cone filter with torque tube set up? reason I ask is lately my EGTS are high and every1 is saying that amsoil filters suck and restrict quite a bit. Maybe im not getting enough air?
