believe its done..........



did the potentiometer swap for the tps this weekend. worked fine. the engine has not cut in and out today at all. I removed the wire harness from the fire wall and from the ECM. cleaned and sprayed each with electrical grade lube. used compressed air to remove excess spray residue.

cruise quit working, OD has continuously failed, and now the guages in the dash are gone. If I power down the truck 100% and restart, the guage cluster works for a few minutes and craps out.

I believe that the ECM has taken it final breath or is gasping oh so desperately to screw with me 1 last time...[:@]


on the + side, the engine runs smoother and responds better with no ECM


any ideas???

 

ECM is in "limp" mode when everything else crashes... warranty??

 

His warranty expired in 1996

 

only warranty is the CASH in my pocket!!

at this time...

the stock dash guages work when they feel like it..no OD, no CRUISE.

1 nice thing about this old truck........
