Default Can winter front give you HIGH EGTS?

In canada its -50 celcius right now where I live. I have 2 layers of cardboard covering the rad area. Could this be why my juice attitude is giving me high egts? Im hitting 1450ish on stock levels and worse on levels 1-6.Should I remove it? or is something else wrong?

i'm in b.c., west coast rathole north, i've got the fia winter front, there are two, four by six openings, lots of air to work the fan and thermostat, no problem with this setup, this is just my two cents.

Allthat cardboard and winter fuel, I have stainless steel grill inserts on my truck and I ahve seen both the boost and EGT up over what I see in the warmer weather! Normally at hwy speed 65-75mph (100-140kph) in the warmer weather boost is at 8-10psi and EGTs runnin 700-800deg in colder weather boost runs around 10-13psi and EGTs 800-950deg.

i think the engine not cooling through the rad will cause high egt's, but i am now thinking a gaspot, i don't know if the cummins is any different, my opinion, no. there are a lot of guys smarter than me on the cummins, and i think they will chime in.

where are you in our wonderful country.

i removed ALL CARDBOARD and same thing. its a little better. The question I have is with you guys with chips/modules do u mash pedal to floor or gradually press it? if i mash pedal on level 0 or 1 it will beep and hit 1450 in 4 seconds flat. If I gradually press accelerator to floor I can go way longer without them hitting.
