Default fuel mileage HELP!!!

I have an '02 2 wheel drive 3500. The truck is completely stock and has 51xxx miles. No matter how I drive I cannot get better than 14mpg. I have checked running with drew's brew and without....no change. Is there anything I can do? Could there be something wrong? Or am I just doomed to get 14 mpg?

yea i would check the filters.... if you havent changed the air and fuel filter i bet you will get up to 2 mpg's more out of it. i have an 05 and i get 12.5 in the city and 13-14 on the freeway. some of these trucks for some reason just dont do as well as others. thats the only thing that has pissed me off about my truck, you hear of all these guys pushing 600 miles per tank or hearing about their 16-20 mpg trucks and it makes me mad because thats the one the big things that pushed me to get a diesel.

I hear you. I'm happy with everything about my truck except the fuel mileage. I just can't believe there is such a wide range of mileage numbers. I also can't believe I only get 14 mpg on the highway, when my last truck, a 2001 CTD, got 21 mpg on the highway. I'm going to keep trying different stuff to try to gain some of that mileage back.

I drive in the city and highway. Again it gets an average of 14 in both conditions. I couldn't tell you bout the filters....I know they haven't been changed since I bout it which was in Nov and had 48xxx miles at that point in time.

I would go ahead and change them for peace of mind. Fuel filter is about 10 minutes and air filter is about 4 minutes.
