Question for you Dodge Diesel guys?
Just wondering if you guys could answer a couple of questions for me.......All if not most of you own, a Dodge Diesel truck. When you purchased your truck, did it come with a Cummins Turbo Diesel? or was it just a Diesel?
What are you guys using this truck for? is it being used for towing a trailer, or Toy Hauler?
Would you recommend a CTD truck to tow a Toy Hauler/trailer? or would this be overkill or not enough power?
a co-worker has a Nissan Titan with a 5.6 LE and is thinking about getting Toy Hauler, i told him it might be best to get either a Dodge CTD, or a Dually...what do you think?

Had a '98 1500 Hemi, traded it in for the '07 2500 Diesel when I bought a 22.5 Crownline boat. Parley's Canyon is a significant grade I am required to climb and it is not a short climb.Nearing thetop the Hemi was hitting 35 mph, the 2500 Diesel pulls that boat a 70 mph throughout the entire climb and I am going easy on it.
I guess I just couldn't tolerate being passed bya Toyota without a load.
Therefore, I now have a truck payment. But I am very happy.

Cummins turbo dieselsare great!!
all cummins since 1992/ 1993 have turbos
many upgrades available for the newer trucks (1994 and up)
these are the trucks if you want to tow.
single or dualies....
some guys are reaching 1000 hp and 1000 ft/lb torque
look around here, you will find pics of CTD's hauling massive loads with little effort.

I bought mine more for the fact of power, speed, and longitivity as I have not towed anything yet. I traded a 06 hemi and will never own another gas truck again unless it is for off road only like a jeep or toyota.
The Nissan is a 1/2 ton truck. If you tow anything more than about 5000 pounds or tow very often, your gonna wish you had gone with a diesel. The diesels start at 3/4 ton and go up from there.
