Very unprofessional--I don't care how overpriced or whatever his opinion may be about their stuff. What intake were you looking at that might require machining, woli? I have the high ram on my truck and no machining is required for it.
talk to any place and if there really said what's on their mind.... you'd get the same answer. Banks stuff is crap and all hype. PDR knows what they're doing and were one of the first to take a mega cab to over 1000hp. I'd take their advice and look elsewhere.
Looks pretty crazy, but that's a common rail head, right? Are you planning on running a modified common rail head on your truck?

I know their stuff is over priced and over-rated, but to say it doesn't work at all is ridiculous. Look at the stock intake manifold (or lack thereof) on the ISB. To say that intake woli posted isn't better is ignorant. You toasted your short block, right? Was it #5 or #6 that went (or both)? If it didn't happen to you, it's happened to A LOT of guys because of ISB's poor intake distribution. That's a badass intake manifold, especially if available to the public. Who else has gone through the work to design and cast such a piece? Nobody I know of. Banks tuners and boxes come up short compared to others, but all the hardware I've seen is top notch.

What does me toasting my block have to do with anything ? It's done all the time in racing. It was neither #5 or #6 it was #4 piston that burnt. It has and had nothing to do with " ISB's poor intake distribution " ???? Air flow means a lot but, it's not the intake manifold the causes you to loose any.
If it's such a badass intake then way don't you see one racer using Banks prodcut beside Banks ? There are plenty other custom made intakes and parts that don't carry the cost Bank does nor the hassle of customer service. No need to take any advice from me though... I blew my engine. If PDR said the same thing.... they'd surely be a place I'd listen too.
let me qoute a statement made on intakes....
boost causes 'stagnant air' basically a big mass of air just sitting there waiting to get into the engine. so there is no need to worry about the flow of the intake horn only the pressure drop as a result of it, thats why the stock intake horn makes no less power than the aftermarket ones. its just nice to have some tapped water meth holes and or sensor locations. and its shiney!!!
