Default g56 - high idle works now

I got the cummins part# 3164263 and did the high idle upgrade. It's just a little wire with a special pin on it that plugs into the ecm. You plug it into the #22 hole on the ecm and ground it. That's all there is to it. Pretty cool, when i set high idle it starts off at 1100 rpms and can beadjusted up to 1500 rpms. I tried it this morning it was about 45Fafter about twenty seconds of normal idle I bumped it up to 1500 rpms and man I bet I had warm air inless thantwo minutes. I didn't time it or anything but it was pretty soon. I thought that was awesome. It's gonna be great in the summertime too cooling down the inside. So just a thumbs up for this mod. If you've thought about it what are you waiting for get r done. Sorry no pics but it really ain't such a photogenic mod all it is is a wire.

Oh yeah I forgot to add. You will need to go to the dealer and have them enable your high idle either before or after you do this modbut the instructions will tell you that. It shouldn't cost you more than $20 for them to flash that. Smarty automaticallyenabled itfor me soI didn't have to mess with the dealer. Some of the other programmers enable it as well butI don't know which ones.

How much was the part you needed if you don't mind me asking? I've been thinking about this for a little while now. Thanks

$10 give or take a little. It's just a 4" piece of wire with a special connector pin soldered on one end. I know that's a lotta money for a piece of wire but really it's nota lotta money you know. The mod is well worth it and only takes a half hour to do.

Anyone know of a similar modification to get this feature on an older 12V?
