Default Anyone have MBRP catback without the cat?

I have an 06 CTD 6spd with an MBRP catback and was wondering how it would sound if I removed the cat. Right now the exhaust sounds pretty good, but a little tame for my likeing when just cruising around. Do any of you have the MBRP muffler and no cat? I'm just curious as to how the tone of the exhaust would sound if I went ahead and removed the cat. I'm not too worried about the truck being too loud as I have a few other vehicles to drive on a daily basis, but just want to make sure that it would sound really good. Anyone with this set up I'd love to hear from you. Thanks!

I have that set up on the wifes 07. It's the MBRP T304 SS though which will sound a little different than the 409 they sell. It's loud.... out side the truck. Very throaty and diesel sounding but, in the cab you can bearly notice. Removing the cat helps drop the egt's too.

I have a similar set up. I removed the cat and put the flowpro muffler on there. Sounds great. I like it. Sounds real mean when I get on it.

Well it sounds like I'll be pretty happy removing the cat then. Like I said, my truck sounds good, definately better than stock, but nothing like these other diesels I hear running around every day. Since this is my first diesel I didn't really know which route to go and I got the MBRP catback for free and it was new so i didn't think I could go wrong there. I guess I'll dump my cat and see what I think! Thanks guys!

If you or anyone else wants to get rid of it I will buy your cat....the one off the truck.

Speakle did your cat get stolen?

Zman if your looking for a knarly sounds remove the cat and ditch the muffler. Then pull the silencer ring. That'll probably give you the sound your looking for.

Your truck sounds awsome in the vid, exactly how i wish my truck sounded. How much different would mine sound than yours being that I just have the 4" mbrp?

Im thinking the 5" inch would sound just a bit deeper, but not sure though, maybe someone else could chime in and elaborate.

I bought my truck used with 5k miles on her and it wasnt there when I bought it. I have an aero 4040 where it was and some aftermarket muffler that was there when I bought it. It sounds great but I have no friendly dealers around here so I want all my I's dotted and t's crossed.
