first, I would like to thank Dave aka parts/ service for the promt delivery of a new PCM for my truck.

now, I am still having the same agrivating malfunction as I did with the old PCM[sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif][sm=dontgetit.gif][sm=bomb.gif]



could it be a combination of pcm and crank sensor??

I have had that happen with other vehicles.

1 sensor malfunctions, then the computer is taken down. you replace the computer, but you have to work and work and work to find the primary malfunction that caused the secondary malfunction...

ideas would be greatly appreciated !!

I always found a brick of C4 does the trick.

anyway, I would look into that crank sensor.

it has crossed my mind more than once recently.

actualy, if you take a black cat, shove it in enough to where you have about 1/2 inch exposed and light the brick on fire it will give you enough time to run just far enough away. just remember, dont light the black cat, light the C4, the fire will hit the black cat in time.

I think you installed the flux capacitor backwards

Kev. If you think that having a factory service manual for you truck will help, I would be glad to lend you mine. Its sitting here in my book case just gathering dust. And I know, how sad is it that I have more service manuals in my book case than actual books...LOL. Let me know, I can UPS it to you if you need it.....PM me if you need it...

what's wrong with your truck?
it was badly abused by the previous owner (s) .



all factory guages (electronic) shut down in the dash
alt volts drop to 10.5 or less (controlled by pcm)
no OD (electronic)
no cruise (electronic)
engine still runs fine.

with low alt output, I am not able to drive in the wee hours of the morning when I need head lights

I have resurected my 1959 vw baja to drive for work while the truck is abandoned in my side yard. I just hope the 37 yr old engine holds long enough for the truck to be working 100% again...


does true value hardware sell primacord??????
