replacing 4x4 actuator? could use some input
tell me about it...its beena nightmare so far. Im not off of dodge by any means, but im thinking of almost getting rid of it to avoid any other issues once i fix it. Is it normal to not be blowin any black smoke? I was told it has different injectors, and i know the tst box is unplugged, but shes not blowin any that i can tell. Just wondering if thats normal for basically a stocky
The actuator is a pretty easy fix. Its a box shaped object with two lines running into it. One should be red and one should be black. Make sure the vacuumlines are still attached to it. When in 2wd one should have the vacuum and in 4 wd the other should. The unit itself should just unbolt and the new one bolts in. Becareful because most likely the bolts are a bit rusted.
thanks burban, im probably gonna tackle it tommorow and HOPE that is takes care of it. Have a possible foot of snow coming on sunday and 4wd would probably be nice
About the smoke, even when i get on it, i am not trailin any..is this a good thing? meaning no unburnt fuel? or should i be makin some? im not pushin any extra fuel with fass or anything, just a stock pump, but it does have stage 2 injectors

i have four wheel drive! yessssss. what a relief that was to see that light come on and have the 4wd engage. AND i got the track bar in, the outer connecting tie rod (the one to the pitman arm),tie rod-end and adjusting sleeve on. 1000% better on the steering. overall a good night for the truck thats been all problems.

sweet man I'm glad it worked out for you. It sure is nice to have 4wed when you need it. I think the extra smoke is from your injectors and not really a big problem. Mine doesnt smoke much, but its also pretty much stock (for now
). Do you have gauges on your truck?

a stronger fuel pump like a FASS or Walbro kit may help with the smoke... better fuel pressure will ensure that the injection pump does not starve for fuel under high demand
