I was pushed into a decision. I had the Mardi Gras evacuation trip with the 5'ver planned to Disney, but the original tires on the truck were at 50k miles. I had a major tire failure and subsuquant tire destruction on the right front in mid January. After a extensive examination of the other tires, I found suspicious cracks forming near the tread/sidewall.

The Weld's rims from Ronsrims.com had me on backorder since last November, with no firm delivery date projected.

At my age and profession, safety first, end of story, and bought new Michelins for the trip. I still have the Weld's coming when they're available, just have the extra hassle of finding a buyer for the old rims, beauty rings, and near new tires.

No real complaints here, I'd be a hypocrite if I did. Just a different road to take to my destination!

Oh, and also...........Rickson sells Weld's Rims as well. I'm getting basically the same package but with out the huge mark up and $100.00 per rim balancing job.
