Default oil change

To the experts, my new Dodge Mega cab Diesel has 2500 miles on it now. When is it due for its first oil change. It will be done at the dealer for no charge, but what mileage do I take it in
Thanks, Burt

I did mine at 3,500. Id change it now, a free oil changewont hurt anything. Then get a quick drain plug from Geno's Garage and do your oil changes yourself, its really easy and saves you money.

Change it now if they will let you and then it can run 7500 in between oil chanegs.

The book says 7,500 but I'm thinking about having mine done soon as well since I'm at 3,500 and it sure wouldn't hurt at all especially since the motor is just about to start breaking in (haha). 10,000 miles and it'll be ready to start it's break-in period.

SO I SAY, CHANGE IT!!!

I changed mine at 1,800 miles, and the next change 6,000 miles later. I had Blackstone do a used oil analysis and found a high concentration of fuel in the oil, so I'm going to do the next change at 5,000 and another UOA.

your truck will freak when you change it. the new computers track the oil integrity (some how) and notify you when the oil should be changed.

if yuo change it, dont be surprised if it doesnt say "change oil" in 2k miles.

I change mine every 5k, I use rotella synthetic, and napa gold (previously). now k&n filters and probably going to change to baldwin. I would have stayed with napa gold but saw I bought a imported filter somewhere and I would rather keep my money in america [sm=americanasmiley.gif]. Baldwin and K&n are both american made products.

When I change mine, I follow the instructions in the owners manual to reset the oil change reminder. My computer has never told me "OIL CHANGE DUE."
