Tow rope\strap size?
Mayfair: I was considering that hook receiver too. I liked the clevis a little better because you'd be sure the strap couldn't come off if you backed up and yanked again.
Splat: Do you have a link to the cat rope? I couldn't find it either.
Also, what do you guys use to attach to the vehicle you're towing? I was thinking of picking up a clevis and a hook or something like the hooks the tow truck drivers use.

I have no ideal what mine is rated for, I just got the 20 foot 2 inch strap with eyelets, most I pulled has been from the front so the front pulls were used so all I have to do is slide the loop in the grab it and I pulled a 20 foot tree and the strap didn't stretch a bit that I seen anyway,I pulled a shed down with it last week, I glad I didn't have the hooks on it as the chain I was hooked to broke, so all I had flying at the truck was nylon, not a big metal hook.

This is obviously a great tool to have stored in our trucks. I also could not find any reference to the "cat rope", but came acoss this this 30,000 lb. nylon strap that streches up to 33 %.

We never have the snow banks to deal with here in the south, but more than enough mud holes!

I have one of these...

and love it. I use a 3/4" truckers rope for a tow strap... worked for me for years until I decided to move a boulder with it and cut it in 2... took it home and fixed it. instead of 30', now its 22'. the nice thing is if it breaks, you can mend it on the spot.

Yes Mayfair... buying from Canada EH? Damn things are most likely brought up from the States and manufactured in China!
As for a web site for "cat rope" I was given mine as a "safety award" many moons ago, the thing is about 2.5 - 3" in diameter and 30+ feet long. I've had it for about 15yrs, I did see one at a bulk fuel station and they wanted $295.00 cnd for it, thats about $350.00 usd ... lol. Go loonie Go!

Thanks steve05ram360, that's a nice looking D-ring receiver. I'm gonna pick one up for sure.
I'm probably going to pickup this towstrap:

So, when you guys are pulling someone out of a snow drift, let's say it's a car or something, what do you use to hook to the target vehicle?
