Man say what you will about Gale Banks, but I just read the story behind his Duramax named Sidewinder and I was just looking at pics in the February issue of Diesel Power. That truck is HOOKED UP !! Either it was himself personally, or it was his team, but it looks VERY well though out and very well buit. If you get a chance to read about it, I'd reccomend it.

That's the D-Max S10.....his modding project is called Sidewinder....and he has several vehicles.....but since you wanted a Cummins...

I like the fact that they custom tuned the chevy ecm so it wouldn't smoke, even with all the extra power. Diesel Power did a write up on it a few months ago.

 

alot of people bash his products (i think there to expensive for what they do) but he is a real pioneer in the diesel industry.

 

the s10 is nice, but it should be, it's a former low 7 second pro stock truck. Granted he did a ton of work getting the most out of his engine and everything, but the rolling chassis and carbon fiber body were already put together. He just had to make the duramax fit in, and change the trans tunnel to accept the allison and gear vendors.

Make no mistake, I think it's super awesome that people are doing new and innovative things with stuff.

For my money, I like the old backhalved c10 with the duramax in it.

Well, banks is about diesel engines, not drag chassis'. It'd be sweet in a steel bodied truck, but the pro stock truck helps people equatebanks' work with tangible numbers.

 

but i guess anythins is possible with enought $$
