RE: WARNING For those in the Houston area
+1 Cujo. When it is done yourself, you learn about your truck even more. So, if anything breaks, you should have some idea on how to fix it, and you get a sense of accomplishment. At first you might feel a little cautous because you have never done it before, and you are not sure of your work, but over time you will have some self assurance. Thats how it was when Built my first engine. Suspension works looks complicated and overwhelming as a whole, but if you look at each component individually, and think about how that component works ot affects whatever, then it is pretty simple. Especially on a solid front axle. They way I want my truck to be is all DIY.

RE: WARNING For those in the Houston area
I agree with ya AZ. There was a time not that long ago, when due to financial situations that I had no choice but to work all my repairs and rebuilds. Nowadays, if I have the time and feel I have the skill level, I'll still try my hand at it. But on the other hand, on some occasions, time doesn't permit me that option. Sometimes, I'm better off doing what I do for a living and hold my breath and try to trust the professionals to do what they do best.
I know, I know, there's plenty of scammers out there, but I have to say that there are also some worthy and trusting mechanics around who has chosen that profession as their livelihood.
