Default Actually working it a bit

So, I've been home this week and, as per the norm, Household 6 had quite a list of honey-do's for me all lined up. Funny how these things become major tragedies the second you get home.....[:@]

So anyways, she has this nasty habit of neglecting my AO (Area of Operations......aka, everything outside the house...i.e. garage, yard, and anything else she hasn't claimed as her own). So I find that I have 3 big pines to take down (one was ready to fall on my neighbors cars / house). And being that my truck has been looking at me all sad and looking like it has been neutered due to the fact that it just sits in the driveway while I'm gone and does nothing but haul a bag or two of trash to the dump once a month, it was just begging to actually do a bit of work.
[sm=badbadbad.gif]

So, out came the chainsaw, winch, straps, pulleys and of course the obligatory alcoholic beverages (i.e. beer) whenever working with power tools, vehicles and larger soon-to-fall-down objects. [:-]

Little did I know that my truck is still less than satisfied as I failed to work it sufficiently. It basically laughed at and me and said, "You call this work?" Each of these pines was about 40 - 45 ft tall and after cutting them up I could fit one whole tree in the back of the truck. It hardly made a dent in the ride height (that I could visibly notice) and wasn't the least bit noticeable going to dump it off.

So my truck still has inadequacy issues because I was unable to satisfy it, but I had fun tearing stuff up. [&o]

Uhhh, I tried......ground was too soft and that left me more stuff to fix. [:-]

Beside, I have a nice little trick for stumps..........charcoal. Pour a bag of charcoal on it and let it go. It'll smolder it down until there is a fairly large hole, but at least you don't have this gapping hole from the roots, dirt and everything else getting dragged out.

Once the charcoal has burned out, the stump will usually smolder for a few days and burns right down into the ground. Nothing to clean up but a bit of charcoal dust.

You're home?

I saw you here and there over the lastcouple of days, but I thought you somehow found internet access from down under.

How long are you back for?

that sounds like a pretty neat trick, if i ever come across a stump that needs to be removed im going to have to remember that!

I'm leaving again tomorrow.

I do have internet at the the house down there now, but DEAR GOD is it slow. It costs me $105 a month for internet and the fastest I can get is 104k

This site usually locks up on me before I can even get a page to load beyond the home page so I don't get on too much. Trying to post anything takes more time than it would to send something in the mail.

It works best if the stump is already dead and fairly dry. Then it eats it right down to the roots and you actually have to add a bit of dirt.

If it's a fresh cut, it takes a bit and usually only gets it down even with or slightly below the ground.

Just pile a bag of charcoal on the stump and walk away. Obviously make sure there are no dry pine needles to catch fire...........don't ask. [:-]

So what a buck for every KB of download speed hehehee not to make you feel bad or anything but I don't even remember the last time I was pass'n traffic that slow. Heck my cellular data card pushes faster than that and it's slow.

Net 2.0 has to be killing you on that speed. I feel for you really I do....do you want me to print out the internet and mail it to ya?
