TV Truck Ads

Is it just me or are you getting sick of these phoney truck ads that Toyota and now Ford are putting out. Come on, the new Ford one dropping a crate from the heli on to the truck bed claiming a 30,000# "static load". The dam crate bounces up after it hits the bed. And these Toyota ads with the two steel beams swinging. I don't think there is any stunt man alive that would accually try that without photo editing. I think Dodge should get a Ford and drop a for real 30,000# load on the truck and then crap it off of the concrete with the CTD. The really scary part of these ads is there are people out there that buy them because of this BS. Sorry. My daily rant.

lol well i think the adds are probably true and the centrifuge add is a ford one... see here http://jalopnik.com/352080/f+150-spu...?autoplay=true we all know that ford makes those tow loops very strong what with them needing to be pulled out and towed all the time...and they do say actual demonstration on the add...hell who knows

i have to say, even dodge referenced the great tow hook strength in the sales brochure. says how they test them and they're designed to to hold 2x gvwr. all makers are guilty of the pretty much the same sales tactics, whether it be in print or on tv. here is what dodge states in the '08 brochure-
"AVAILABLE FRONT TOW HOOKS: Dodge's tow hooks are mounted securely for a completely solid hookup point and are mounted higher then on competitive models- a design convenience immediately obvious and practical if your in mud or deep snow. As well, the front tow hooks are tested to hold up to double the maximum Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR).
i am not trying to defend or tear down any of the auto manufacturers here, but just pointing out they all try to sell us a line of bs. let's be real, dodge is not excluded.
