RE: Exhaust Brake
I have an after-market Jake Brake on my truck.
My mileage changes depending on how I'm driving. It will come up a bit cause the rig gets warmer faster (and a warm Cummins is a happy Cummins ) and if I can time the lights correctly so that I don't actually STOP the truck at lights then the mileage stays up. But if I'm still stopping at all the lights and letting the brake slow me down to much so I have to step on it again...well then it down and stays down.
So it is all about how you drive the rig.
I turn mine on in the morning until the truck is good and warm. Then turn it off unless I need it (or heck just wanna hear the sound ).
