Wow, that's a real "thumper for ya. Seems we're hearing of more and more diesel powered vehicles being researched and designed.

And the weird thing is, I don't understand WHY we're doing so much research on a veichle that right now costs the most to fill up.

mayfair..... if me and you got good mileage like everyone else we would probaly understand. the way we see it is, it cost the most to fill up while getting the same mileage as a gasser

without doing the math im going to guess that even with our high prices..... its still cheaper per mile to drive than having a gasser (with the upgrade cost of diesel engine aside)

I hear ya, but why not work a little harder on hydrogen or electric cars? Why are they still working on a car that uses a fuel that is already through the roof? That was my point.

i understand what you were saying now... you see it like putting money into a dead horse.

but the way i see it as, with all the people and researchers there are today... they can research diesel, electric, hydrogen and anything else they feel worthy and still keep productive in all areas[:-]

Low and Behold ...........Chevrolet has a prototype Totally electric car debuted at the Detriot Auto Show. Not being mass produced just yet, but this Utube video explains alot. I saw a model of one at Disney's/Epcot Test Track ride last month. This may be the future?????????
