this is a very deep subject to get into but, Drew.... do you actually budget for " pay cuts " ?
Sorry I came into this thread late but there is a simple answer to this one. Don't buy on credit and put some of your money in savings each month.

Sorry to hear about your pop, AZ. Hopefully things will turn around for him in the near future.

The US is not in a recession yet, but it appears to be headed that way. It's going to be tough for the lending industry and the construction guys for awhile.

if the price of fuel went down we could afford to go to work but if you bought your home 5 years ago the priceof fuel was 1.50 now its almost 4.00. Who other than the oil companies have that big of a raise in the past 5 years on their paycheck. Again i would gladly give up my tax rebate check for lower prices.

That stupid tax rebate is nothing more than lending your money to you since you have to pay it back next year anyway...that is unless of course you made less than $5k last year in which case we wouldnt be talking right now. [:@][:@][:'(][:'(]Dont get me going on that one.

some of you may remeber that I was self employed up till last October. had to close shop due to everyone being cheap ***** and wantiing to pay juan or jose $10 / hr to half **** a job vs paying me my rates to do the owrk professionly (and guarantee).

I have gone back to work for contractors since then. sat over 30 days scroungin work during the xmas/ new yrs season. have been with a contractor now for a bout 3 months. the fisrt 4 weeks, never had 40 hrs due to the rain we had every 7 days. we were working a job of trenches, a mile or so.

my mortgage company will not work with me on what I am delinquent with sinceI have not made 9 payments to them since they purchased my mortgage in December. their stupid frickin policy.

I understand the mortgage struggle, the lack of work, and how fast we all get in to debt even if we plan ahead and budget. the kicker, as most of you are aware of, is the HUGE heated divorce I am gearing up for.

why cant her and I just hook my ctd to her chevy for a pull off. winner decides what happens !

AZ.....I hope its not too late for your dad to call the mortgae company. there are fedral programs to help stop the foreclosure.

everyone , if it wasnt for the dark desires of the filthy ritch to control the population, there would always be work and low fuel prices.

That is what he told me he was going to do. The bank doesnt want the house due to the amount of property they already own from thousands of other foreclosures. They should work with him, or else they are jus tskrewing themselves.

RamItOne- Since he first bought his house in 2002 the value doubled. The house was 118K and it was appraised in sep 06 for 240K. Problem is, there are no buyers. There are so many foreclosure homes in Arizona right now, 400K homes have been sliced to 250K and they still wont sell. My friend Moved to Colorado in september 06, and their old house still hasnt sold. So there is no way he could sell his house if he tried. After 911 interest rates went way down, and people could finally afford homes. Problem is, the mortgage companies are greedy f*cks and screwed everyone buy tricking people into an adjustable rate mortgage. So one the economy stabalized after the clean up of 911, the rates went back up, and these new homeowners mortgage payments doubled, forcing foreclosure.
Greed is what is rotting our country.

well idiot tricked themselves into the adjustable

the only time an ARM really makes sense is if you know youre gonna be gone in a few years, how long have you been at a duty station before PCS'ing, prob not more than 3 years so a 3 year arm with a low rate would make sense but a 3 year arm hoping that your raises will then compensate for the increase is dumb.

im glad bear sterns went under, bunch of ****ing morons, sadly it was an early childhood want to be one of their analysts for the DAX (german stock exchange) and live overseas, oh well thats what a 12 year old wants. ......

Sorry to hear. Just keep in mind that the good times aren’t as good as you think, and the bad times aren’t as bad as you think. That has gotten me through some difficult times.
