Default Aero Turbine

I have been reading some posts from members and most people like the aero. I do have one question, I talked with a muffler shop who is just starting tocarry these and he wasn't sure these would be good for a diesel aplication. He thought the stainless was too thin and thewelds on thehangers would break off in time from all the shaking these do when they shut down and start up. Has any one had any of these issues with theres.. had it long enough to notice. He says he usually puts on the superZ not sure if that is sold in the states or not but it is a local muffler up here. I just waant to swap out the oem with the 4040xl. Another thing he was saying is that the oem is an offset muffler and the Aero is a strait through. He thought this may make it a bit crappy to get a good install.

Any way any feed back would be great I love to hear about these mufflers as I really want to put one on but they are big $$ so i don't want to jump in untill I know what is in the water!!

No hangers on my Areo, as far as being thin? Pretty heavy considering the size. I installed mine just behind the cab and had the cat removed. Sounds great!!

Thanks Steve05,

Did you get hangers on yours Not sure if these are needed. Did either of you get the muffler welded on or clamped?

Thanks again

mines where the cat used to be... hangers not needed as it's not really that big and the existing hangers support it fine.

I have a 30" magnaflow where the stock muffler is... had a shop do the install. at the same time the yanked the cat & put in a straight pipe where it used to be. about a year later I did the aero install. I saw a 1~1.25 mpg bump after the install... after watching it drop 1.0 or so mpg with the previous setup. the shop that did the install welded it all up.

I left my cat in place and put the Aero where the muffler was. The stock muffler was much longer the the Aero so I had to have tube added to make the Aero fit. The muffler shop lined it all up so the stock muffler hangers are attached to the new chunk of extended pipe.. Everything down there was welded.

Great Tommygunz,

That would be the set up I am doing so it sounds very do-able !! I think I will order through the shop and will make sure they weld on the pipe.. not the can ! And thanks to every one for the reviews on how it has held up so far and if you like it or not. Thi Site is the best !!It really helps to know first hand what others have done and think of products
