That's one heluva an antenna you've got on the Cummins !! [:-]

 

My 96 stays outside 24/7 and the dash looks as good as it did when I bought it.

 

Once long ago I had a CB in my truck now I don't... I gave up on it...

 

What dash hole?

What did you think of the cover? Did you ever paint it?

 

Yeah, I painted it.I thought I would amuse myselft and call the local dodge dealer. After telling him where he could stick his $18five ounce can of spray paint, I used some Duplicolor paint that is a very close match. An 11 ounce can was $4 at Autozone. It was real easy matching the color, I just took in one of the chunks that fell off the dash and held it up to the cans until I found a match.

The original color of theoverlay was about the same color as the cable going into the Quadzilla on the dash.

Oh, one other thing! Look above the #3 defrost hole ontop of the black bezel that goes around the instrument panel. That thing cracked on me and broke when I pulled it off! I've taken that thing off probably 10 times in the last 6 months. Now it looks like it was probably made out of the same plastic as the dash. It already had a crack in it around the head light switch. I super glued that piece that broke off. You can't see it when you are sitting in the drivers seat. I guess I'm looking at a new bezel now. I haven't seen one of those aftermarket yet so if you know where to get one, let me know.

 

We have a couple of Ram 1500 v-6's that have the same problem. If it makes you feel better, our holes have been there for over a year with no tint or shades from the sun and we haven't had any wiring problems yet.

 

Bob - I HATE to say this, I REALLY do, but I mentioned this piece from the very beginning when I mentioned Coverlay. Coverlay sells this piece, but LMC did not, that is another reason why I reccomended Coverlay.

Yeah, if it had broke BEFORE I placed the order, I would have ordered one. I can't see the crack from the drivers seat so it doesn't bother me. I also was kinda skeptical of how an overlay would look on the bezel. I'm hoping that I an just find a new bezel and be done with it.
