Default Programers and Chips for the 6.7L

Wasn't sure what the best route was to go to improve the mileage of my 6.7L motor? What's the best chip and programer available that's had the best results? Any suggestions on intakes and exhausts? I'm looking at MBRP with muffler delete. Any comments?

You are SOL until you get your engine broken in. I have the MBRP cool duals with muffler delete on mine, and it didnt do anything for sound. The way I see it, to get any sort of mileage gain, power and sound, we gotta get rid of the DPF.

I have an Edge Juice w/ Attitude on mine. The 'mileage' setting gave me worseMPG than the stock setting.

Really? Worse MPG? Do you still have the DPF?

If you're looking for a chip/programmer, Smarty for the 6.7 is due out any day now... I'd pinch my pennies if I were you until that happens!

Mine is stock except for the Juice w/Attitude. After I installed it, I ran a few tankfuls through it. The fuel economy was a little worse, but not much.

I'm thinking about removing the cat & DPF someday, maybe installing the H&S Performance delete kit. Perhaps the mileage setting on the Edge will be more beneficial without the extra exhaust restrictions.

My understanding is that as of 2007, you can no longer remove the kitty and with the 6.7L as well as the DPF? Believe me I'd love to pull them out, but I was told that it's $2500 fine as least in Texas if you mess with them. I've only got 7K on my truck and I've already had to take it back for de-sooting and my the turbo is bad...
I guess I'll check with one guy at work who's going to install the flashpaq from superchip, and see what he gets with results...of course he tried installing the programer and found out he's got to have is turbo replaced!
I'm actually tempted to pull the kitty and dpf and clamp in a delect pipe and when it comes time for inspection, just put them back in...

Thanks guys...

Something else that just came to mind? Does anyone know who makes aftermarket DPFs for these trucks? I was thinking to go 5" on the exhaust, but like I said, I'd need a kitty (shouldn't be problem with using a universal one) and DPF so at least be able to put it on for inspections.

It's a violation of Federal law to tamper with or remove emissions equipment from any vehicle. That doesn't mean it isn't done.

You can't just yank out the DPF and cat without dealing with the computer somehow. The computer gets signals from pressure sensors in the exhaust near the DPF. If you yank the wires, the computer will throw codes and go into limp mode. At least a couple of companies have come up with a 'black box' fix for the problem. H&S Performance and Bad P Trucks are the only ones I know of. http://www.badptrucks.com/DODGEDELETE.htm

Thats Joel! I have one question about the emissions with the DPF delete box? Is this going to have any efect on the emissions when tested?
