Since everybody seems to like cold air, id like to see someone reroute an A/C vent into their airbox..... sure it wont provide all the air but itll blow in some damn cold air..

Why don't you just go buy a Amsoil Nano air filter to replace the K&N filter. That way when you do need to clean it all you need is an air hose.

ive been happy with my k&n drop in, as for cleaning, some hose water does the trick, the recharge kit is pretty cheap and will last a long time.

I'm real back and forth about that Amsoil one. To be onest with you, it makes me nervous. I'd love to see one before deciding. I think if I was to dump the K&N, I'd install a BHAF next. That thing looks pretty bulletproof.

Mayfair,

Amsoil has the Nano filter in BHAF size, all you need to know is what size the K&N tube is. FYI, the Amsoil Nano air filter is made from the same Nano fibers that Donaldson uses to make the air filter for the Army Abrams Tank, so I'm sure it will work well for your engine with out any problems.

MM73 - I like the BHAF, and if my K&N got trashed I'd go that route next, but since my K&N seems to trap dirt, I'll keep it. I do wonder though if I'm not shooting myself in the foot by cleaning it as much as I do. I sometimes wonder if it wouldn't filter better if it was kept a LITTLE dirty.
I look at it this way... A BHAF is roughly $30 bucks at Vulcan Perfomance. Ity lasted me over 60K miles and 4 years now. So that breaks down to 7.5 bucks a year for a filter... The nice part I don't need to clean it just toss the dity on away... Less chances of getting dirt inside the filter and damaging a expensive engine...

If you want to verify the filter performance... Just spray your intake tube with WD40. If any dirt is getting by it will collect rapidly in the WD40. That's how I found out my stock air box was leaking dirt past the filter...

What??? Geez! I live in freeze land here... Every morning its like 28*F and might warm up to 45*F... My lowest temp here is -20*F this winter...[sm=headbang.gif]

But I've heard that comment before... [sm=icon_stickpoke.gif]

But I know ol' Bank's had used A/C'ed air for one of there beefed up Cummins Trucks... (Been there heard that...)

if a dozen or so Cummins Ram owners would get together in one place,
they could swap various tires onto one Ram
then measure how far that Ram 'coasts' with those particular tires from 70 mph on the same stretch of highway.

The tires that coast the farthest distance
have the lowest rolling resistance.

Finding this out
would be the easiest method
for Cummins Ram owners to improve their MPG.

In about 9 months a new 2008 Federal Law requires that tires have a grade stamped on them for rolling resistance
