Default stock muffler 2004.5?

Hi,

The console says I get between 21-25 mpg on the interstate and about 17-19 with light city driving. I know you can' trust the console but even if its 1-2 mpg too optimistic I still find it hard to believe a 3/4 ton diesel can pull those numbers.

I remember reading someone on the forum that the 2004.5 has a logo on the rear muffler (?)but it does not have it on mine. Do I have a stock muffler or an aftermarket?

Thanks,

Gio

My console is off by 5+ mpg consistently. Granted, I am running a Power Puck which makes is worse, even when I run it stock its off by 3-4 mpg.

I can average between the high 17's to the mid 18's. that was before I got my 315's. no telling what it is now.

also, you still have the stock muffler and catalytic converter. the cat is the big round thing under the cab.

The stock tires will help the mileage, especially in town. The only way to find out what your mileage really is, is to hand calculated it after refueling.

I was running around the same numbers Drew had for MPG when I was stock. Right now my overhead can read 29MPG, but I'm really at 21, always hand calculate for the best results.

I'm down at Ft. Rucker AL BTW, keep in touch with the south east group for dyno and racing event meet ups.
