guy's, this morning I went out to my truck to see a 2 foot puddle of gear oil under my yoda. . .well, me thinking thats no where near enough fluid to empty the tranny for the yoda I put my gallon jug(half full) of amsoil 75-90 in the back and set out for work. . .everything is shifting fine, the normal clicking from one gear to the next, eveything is running good. well, I just walked out to check the level and come to find out I had NO FLUID AT ALL. the fill plug was dry, the drain plug only gave me a small trickel
I just pumped in just shy of a half gallon of oil and that still want enough to fill it up. and I'm pretty sure I can make it home on that seeing as I've probably been running around for the past week without any fluid. . .AMSoil probably just saved the tranny in my yoda!!!

yeah you wont kill the tranny, theres not enough air moving in it to allow the gears to dry up that quickly. plus even when you drop the pan (06 ram 1500) i think theres just 6 quarts or so and the other 10 or so still need to get flushed so you should be fine to get home and figure out where the leak is...

apparently the rear main output seal is the wrong one for my tranny. I think it may be for the R150 and not for my W59, even though the rebuild box was sealed and said W59 on it[:@]
there is an internal pickup that is driven by oil pressure flung onto it by 1st gear. that tube oils the rear bearing and other parts of the back of the tranny. well, all that oil gets dumped back there and follows the path of least resistance, which happens to be through the rear seal. I made it home no problem, unsure how much oil I lost, but I'll try and get a pick of the oil slick tomorrow.
