Default Dies going up hill

I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 3500 4x4 Cummings Diesel 5.9 6 cyl. Run's fine until I go up a steep incline, then dies. Replaced starter (it went first), then the fuel pump (180.00), and now both batteries are losing charge from troubleshooting. When I switch to the other tank, same problem so I think that eliminates fuel p/u tube. Any suggestion appreciated.

Have you had the pressures checked on your lift pump and the injector pump? And does it ONLY do it going uphill, or does it do it when the engine has any extra load on it too, like a heavy load in the bed/trailer?
