Help a gasser out :)
Holy **** you typed all that. Damn thought you copy pasted, although did wonder about the few teh is saw LOL.
I didn't get going till around 2 today so I didn't make t over to uhaul. If their towbsr won't work the others are too expensive
so I'll wind up transporting it via a company.
Az yeah the ones I was looking at were 1500-2500 but with no place to store it it just wouldnt work out.

When I used to work for the local dealership I used to do dealer trades and would transport pretty much anything via car dolly. A 275/50/17 is not even a 28" tire, I never had any problem hauling trucks, burbans, tahoes, etc with a dolly, might wanna check another place-maybe they have a heavier duty dolly. The one you prev. described sounds like its for little cars.
just park it in the southside of span antonio and let the illegals go to work, then bam insurance and buy one in fla..
hahah
no i found a company http://www.point2pointautotransport.com/ i dont remember what site i used, but its i guess like lendingtree where they look for best rates (never use lending tree, horrible rates, when i told them what i then got aprv on my mtg they said they couldnt touch it) anyways so i but in my price range and took a shot at 500 bucks, and they emailed me 495, checked them out, they seem legit, they dont want money up front, theyll take payment once the veh is in my custody (or they could just be saying that to ease my concerns but then never see my truck again) but for less than 500 bucks thats the best route, flying back to drive it was gonna be just a major pita, lets see drive 1k miles, settle in, next day fly back and drive 1k miles again. the kits to hook up the truck were min 200 bucks but then id have my truck hanging off the *** of the rental, couldnt drive as fast as no trailer brakes, and it would prolly drop the mpg by 1.5-2.5 and coming down from at best 10 in those rigs ha... plus it looks like bigrivers gonna treat me to a meal out in new orleans, gonna eat some boo coop creole food..... better be spicy, want to go from this

be prepared for it to take a while. not saying it will, but be prepared. i guess my situation is a little different, being in midland and all, but i had both my vehicles delevered to me. one from a dealer (NC) and one from my sister (FL). my jeep, from FL, was quoted at 750 and pick-up would be in less than 7 days. 8 WEEKS later, after being on the phone with them almost daily, they tell me they have a spot on a truck, but that that driver wanted an extra 250, otherwise they didnt know when the nest spot would be available. and this was from one of the top rated (number 3 at the time) transport companies. my truck, from the dealership in NC, was quoted at 750 and that it would be picked up "on thurday" (in two days). This was a totally different company, defferent everything, and while they didnt raise the cost to get it to me, it still took another 2 AND A HALF WEEKS to get it loaded on to a truck, and that was with the dealership leaning on them pretty hard. don;t get me wrong, once you get your vehicle onto a truck you will have it pretty quick, prob within 2 or 3 days from tx to fl, its just getting it ONTO the truck sucks ***. i hope you have better luck than i did!!!
wow that horse ****. Did they already have the veh in their poss at one of their terminals?
I'll look to see what their escape clauses are for delays and price changes.
I was fine with a week, was just gonna borrow one of my friends dads f350s, could prolly borrow it for several weeks, but damn its a diesel with at least 37" tires and 6" lift so mpg blows.
I'm at discount tire, second frigging flat in 2 weeks!!!!
Guess I'll drive over to uhaul and see what their hitches look like and may go that route, 8 weeks is insane.
Thanks for the info.
I'd have claimed they stole it and called the cops on em.

it took that long to have it picked up. they only had it in their posession for about 3 ro 4 days. BUT, i would have lost my deposit if i told them i wnated to use somebody else. the only saving grase is that at the time i still had my 4runner and i do all my driving for the most part in my company truck. so its not like i needed it to get around in, it just pissed me off that everyday i called they said "its scheduled to be picked up in a couple days"
