how soon's the move? your cheapest and best bet might still be to buy a plane ticket one way in advance, just fly back and drive your own truck. i just bought 2 roundtrip tickets for may 19. one for my bro from minneapolis to denver and one for my sister from orlano to denver. since it is still early enough, its costing less than 500 bucks total. or since you would be by yourself and it would be one way, i think you can still get 'stand-by' tickets for about 50 bucks... just pick a time no one else likes to fly
yeah just checked southwest, needs to be 5.2.08 at the earliest to get disc, its like 150, but then add all those BS fees, but if its within 14 days its like 330 + all those bs fees.
ill look into the standby tix. gonna try orbitz and expedia. was bored today, and seeing it was ****ty enough with the 2nd flat within 2 weeks and finding out the tow bar wont work, i decided to move my stuff from the upstairs, bout as dirty as a pig in slop right now.. still have two pieces that im gonna need my buddy to help with, well over 400 pounds, damn old furniture built so damn well and it doesnt just come undone like todays stuff. and to boot i have a switch back staircase which makes it a pita... i was gonna hire movers, but since im so damn up in the air on when im moving they want like a 3 day notice.. needless to say my F'ed up knee is killing me, gotta go find the ice pack and wrap.. thank god my bed disassembles, even though the posts are a 100 pounds each.
off to get clean and figure out whats for dinner, spurs play at 930 CST!! SWEEP!!!!!!!!

id like to sell it, but i spent (well paying on, hey 0% for 5 years who could pass that up) 10k on living and bedroom crap not even two years ago... its tempting... if i didnt have my two dogs id have sld it all and moved to germany and gone to school there.... if i could sell it all and start over i prolly would, but if i were to have a garage sale every bean in this town would be here offering pesos. and id lose my ***. would only do that if i could then fit the rest of my crap in my truck, if i had a 5th wheel id prolly wind up doing that.. already told the owner of the house im leasing in fla im gonna have to knock out a few cabinets to get my fridge to fit.. big ol 26cubic foot LG, holds a ton of beer!!!!
If you are going to tow the thing with the front end on a dolly, disconnect your driveshaft to the rearend! I have done this plenty and you will actually save mileage by not spinning the driveline. Before you take it off of the dolly, re-attach the driveshaft.
ok so my trucks curb weight is 5216, the uhaul dolly max weight is 3900. so i wonder how much weight will actually be on the dolly?
can i tow my truck backwards? i know there wont be that much weight on the dolly..also my
initial issue with the dolly was tire size, but if the weight works then ill buy some cheap *** wheels and tires from a dirty shop on the southside that my friends cousin works at. 50 bucks for 2 wheels and crap tires... just need to call to see what he has in 5 lug..
and people wonder why ive been putting off the move since oct.
well just got off the phone with my buddy, he has 10k miles on 255 70 17, and these wheels

and in return he'd get my 275 60 20 with 32k miles on them....
just dont know how theyd look on my truck, but it would be cheaper when i want to put larger tires since its a 17" wheel..

i used priceline, by way of sidestep.com (pretty cool by the way, they use a handfull of all the pricecompeting places and puts the prices all in a row) and didnt have any booking fees. the price they advertised is what i paid.
Cool I'll check it out. Can you chose a standby option? I've never flown standby. I've given up my seat several times years ago when they overbooked flights, back then you get a free hotel room and a free round trip ticket anywhere they flew in the lower 48. I like hotels and what a tough price to pay to get a free round trip tix. Last time I did that was in NYC on a flight to Europe, I gladly gave up my seat, took the free room and met up with my buddy and went trolling for chicks.
