Me race the big bad Triton? In MY hemi?? Are you kidding?? No sir, no race challenge here. I am just a lowly business owner starting fresh in the field of diesel aftermarket suppliers. I dont have anywhere NEAR your financial backing. But if I did, and wanted to drag race it, I would have started with a 2wd standard cab. And should that day come, of course I will challenge you. But right now? FORGET IT! lol

I don't know where " the big bad triton " comes from but, until you can walk the walk..... :-) I'm a small business owner myself and am not rich by any means. Once you've spent the money and put the time in then, I think you'd have more ground to stand on with what you're saying. Things are much easier said than done !

I can see where you would say that but, allow me to educate you on my background. I have spent well over $100,000 in cars, parts, track fees, tires, fuel and bets in my days of racing. Not only that, but the hours I have spent installing parts, breaking them, and replacing with a stronger part, is insane! Most guys just give their car to a shop and pay the bill, I do it all myself. So if something breaks, -I- can fix it. I have raced mustangs, camaro's, trucks, corvettes, and each one got more and more expensive. I have been as slow as 15 seconds and as quick as 11.5 so dont think I am a dreamer who has never raced, or has no experience. Granted I have nothing done to my truck, and for good reason. Once it gets fixed (huge dent in the side), I am getting rid of it. No reason to modify something I am getting rid of. I have talked to people over the phone and had them improve their times at the track, with simple things.

Believe me, not only can I talk the talk, but give me the proper vehicle, and I will walk the walk! I say proper vehicle because, frankly, my truck is slow as crap! 7.2 second 0-60? slow....

Gassers are easy to build and it can be done cheaply. To move 8900lbs at 1.7 60ft's and 12's down the track without having parts all over the track is a whole other ball game. You're talking about 3000lbs cars compared to a sherman tank. There's no comparison. If you've spent the money, then you know you can get to a point that there's not much left to do. It's easy to spend someone elses money, I can do that all day long. When it comes to investing in the correct things at the correct times though... that's what you do.

If you're driven a Hemi... why all the concern anyway ?

My business is selling diesel parts, along with numerous other things. I like to get involved in other people's vehicles, learn what they are doing, be active in the community, things of that nature. Nothing wrong with seeing what others are doing, even if its different than what you have. And I drive a hemi, so what, its still a dodge! I made a mistake getting a hemi instead of a diesel, OOPS, but my business is selling diesel parts.

Everything in racing is relative. You say its easier to get 3000lbs down the track? SURE it is... A 3000lb car that runs 12's may need 350+ hp at the rear tires. To run 11's, you will need closer to 500. And getting that extra 150hp is usually QUITE expensive. I am not denying what you are doing is a strong accomplishment, because it is, but whether you race a Taurus station wagon or a 9000lb diesel truck, its still 3 yellows, one green, one red, 1320 feet, and one winner. Its not how fast you get there, but how much you enjoy getting there. There is always someone faster, lighter, using more parts, using less parts, always a variable. As long as you have fun driving your vehicle to a time you achieved, and can better it, who cares what the other guy is doing.

And yes, I know that you reach a plateau when modifying a vehicle. Either the track says you cant go any faster, or your budget does. But, I also know that if Lingenfelter can get a street legal, emissions legal corvette into the 9's and Gale Banks can get a diesel into the 7's, there is NO limit as to what you can do with a vehicle.

as I said eariler.... I love to spend other peoples money, how can I help ( as I rub my hands together in a devious way ). I know the first thing you need to look at is if your intercooler has plastic ends on it. Being a 05, it probably does. If so, and you're looking to start making power... that's one of the things you'll need to address.
