OK ben gone for awhile but got the truck back for now (kinda funny i get it and do the work then wife gets it bac[&o]) and intalled the MAG Hitech front and rear diff pans and double deep trans pan with guages trans, pyro, boost, fuel press, so now i know whats goin on so im ready for my smartyOk so put the boost to the test 30-32lb stock 37-39 with bd boost fooler how much is to much for stock head gasket? im sure someone here has already descused this but i probobly wasnt listening or was distracted(aits an ADD thing!)

And another thing do i need to remove the boost fooler when i put smarty on?

you can leave the boost fooler on, I would just download and install the aftermarket turbo software.

next, I would be more worried about the stock turbo imploding before floating the head

BTW, I have heard the stock HG can handle about 50-60# before problems happen.

So how many lbs can the turbo handle before puking? and how complicated is the smarty downloadin? the main reason i did all issapro guages is i didnt want edge or some of the other boxes due to reliability issues even though it would have ben easier than wiring all those guages[:@]and i think the smarty will over time and with the mods make more power

I have hit 52 lbs of boost on a few occasions without any issues.

So, is a boost fooler not a good idea for a stock turbo?

the stock holset will be fine 40-45#, but that is realy pushing it since over 40# it is not helping cool down the EGT's. Sarkx's 52# is on the bleeding edge of blowing it apart, so keep it to 40# and under.

BTW, downloading the smarty software from your computer to the programmer is quite easy, you just have to downlaod and run the loader from mads website and tell it which software you want to run. 40 minutes later it's done.

I wouldn't be as concerned about grenaging the turbo as I would knowing what the drive pressures must be ! Sharx, you have a stock turbo ??... you better stop that before you melt a piston !

The stock turbo boosts to the thirties because that's all it's designed to do. Any higher and you're just blowing hot air and you're not moving it out.... fast enough. This in turn is heat saturating the cylinders and eventually will cause a melt down if not careful
