Default OT BP credit card

Can't say I have ever seen anyone post anything on the BP/Visa credit card program. With the price of fuel now it is helping soften the costs. With the card I get 5% of the cost back to me in points. I justredeemed $165.00 back from them in gift cards for my points. It takes the $4/gal fuel down to $3.80. Not promoting any brand of fuel but 5% per gallon is quit a bit now that the price continues to go up. Side note: I think for the first 60 days after you get the card it is a 10% rebate.

I got a AAA Visa a while ago that stated that they'd give you 5% cash back on gas purchases. then they changed it to 3%. Then it was only if you used the card at the pump. It got to be a real PITA, so I just switched to useing my debit card again. It sure would be nice though to find someone who gave a little kickback for useing their card.

On another note ...

On Sunday when I filled up there was 2 different prices. One for cash, and one for credit. It was really cool to see this again, and they considered the use of a debit card the same as cash.

Mayfair,I stopped at the BP truck stop east of York NE two weeks ago. They had a 3 cent cash discount for fuel. I went in to use my BP card and they gave me the cash discount plus I get the 5%. Nice bonus! BTY the gift cards that I got for my purchases are BP gift cards. I just used them to buy more fuel.

I like my Amex, its the jet black card. I get about 150 bucks in the form of gift cards a month, usally take the home depot option. It gets me into the first class only lounges at airports.

odd i looked at shells website cause my buddy has a shell card and didnt see anything about gas rebates...

heres a good site that compares a lot of gas cards

ramit: even if you got 200 bucks a month... that doesnt even cover the yearly fees of the black amex... how is that a good trade off? are the other rewards really worth it?

i live in the northeast and have a b.j wholesale club in town that sell gas their about 0.10-0.12 cents a gallon cheaper than a regular self service gas station only draw back is the cost for the membership,40.00 but then again there food and other products are priced better so for me it's a win/win..

i use their concierge desk a lot, have them book my hotels, car rentals, have them send the ball and chain flowers if im out of town. they are pretty good when traveling overseas, if you get arrested theyll find a lawyer for you, if you need medical assistance they will arrange for you to be transfered out of whatever **** hole hospital italy has and fly you to a good hospital. oh you can also return anything under 300 bucks within 90 days, even if the merchant wont take it back amex will reimburse you. think you get a life insurance policy as well, even for just dismemberment lol.. hunny i cant pay this months credit card bill, can you hold the wood down on the table saw..haha... but i would say the concierge service is the best part, if i havent been to that city or just havent been there in a while theyll let me know what events are going on, get me tickets to em. tell them what kind of restaurant you want to go to and theyll point you in the right direction.... and i plan to get a lot more back once im in florida, i currently use my usaa debit card a lot, but will just keep that in reserve and use the amex for now one. as for the first class rooms ive only used the delta crown room and AA admirals club. like when i was coming back from cancun my flight out of DFW was cancled so i just walked over and relaxed in the room, called amex and they booked my hotel and thats all....
