Just a few questions
I am new to the diesal world and love my new truck, but my new 4x4 6.7 long bed is only getting 12.5 to 14.0 mpg. I hope it will get better will it.I only have 2,735 miles on it. What can I expect to get in the future. Thanks guys
if you can get it free, why are you worried about mileage? and just cause you have the bluetec logo, doesnt mean the law agrees that you can run red...
In Texas, if you drive it on the publicroad you have to pay public road tax... no exceptions, not even ag that I am aware of. Red diesel is fuel that has no road tax included in the price.
BTW, what is Bluetec?
BTW, what is Bluetec?
BlueTec is the name used for diesels that have a variety of technologies used to meet the latest emissions standards. It has a catalytic convertor, NOx absorber, and a particulate filter on the exhaust system, along with cooled egr.[/align]

Doesn't sound like anything to allow anyone to break the law by burning non-taxed fuel on the public roadways, though.

As long as its ultra low sulfer diesel you can burn it in a 6.7 L. But if it is just low sulfer diesel you will screw up your emission system. That said, you should check and see what fines you may end up with in your state if they catch you running the red dyed diesel.
You should see an improvement in mpg after you hit 10k to 15k miles.
