Used to have a Katana 750 back in the day.

Still the most comfortable bike I've ever owned.

This bike is comfortable. 50 MPG, top speed(estimated) is 130, Sporty looking, handlebars are not tucked way down, so this bike is easy on the back, which is becoming an issue with me more and more each day. I am almost 22, and I cant even stand up without having to push up off something.

This is the first year in which I haven't had a bike. You are making me jealous! I will probably get another one this summer. I want and 03 CBR 954RR in Titanium color. I had one and it was the best I have ever rode.

130 MPH, huh?

Try a 1993 750, bone stock, redlines at 12K and you actually get CLOCKED by the NY State Troopers at 172 MPH.

Looooooooong story.

Anyways....

The ergo's of the Katana's have always been great. I had a CB400, GS550, Katana 750, GSXR 1100, and now the Softie. By far, the Katana was the most comfortable. The Softie kinds humps ya over a bit and the wind beats you to death on long rides.

notice I said estimated. And this is a touring bike. I was gonna get a SV650, but the single round headlight and no fairing was too ugly for the price.

change your mind to a honda! then get an aftermarket corbin seat! my 02 cbr600 (before i sold it cause of my job) was the easiest to handle sportbike and the lightest that i had ever ridden on! thats over a katana, ninja, and r6.

Thats a nice bike. Have you considered the Ninja's? My brother has a Ninja 250 (his starter bike, just got it last year.) It is very nice bike, and real quick for a 250. I am hoping to buy it off of him in the next couple of years when he upgrades.

I've never liked the ergo's on the Honda's. They are quick and light and handle great, but for any kind of long ride, they suck.

Big difference between a Super Sport and Sport Touring bike. The Katana line wasn't designed as a Super Sport. It's riding position is a lot more upright, you sit lower in the seat and the pegs are farther forward.

The aero's are alao a lot more protective than, say a GSXR, Ninja, etc.

The thing I liked about that '93 was that it was still an air/oil cooled engine that came out of the previous GSXR's and it was more aerodynamic. It wouldn't stay with a GSXR in the corners, but it had a higher top speed. The GSXR that year was the liquid cooled engine and was a friggin' pig. It was really heavy.
