Default Help Me Choose A Intake.

I am going to get a intake soon. I have been trying to do some research on them and see what is the best bang for the buck. Give your 2 cents if you can. I think the AFE looks better. But I am looking for HP and Torque.................................

The AFE

Just from looking at the photos of all three I can see that on the AFE 2 of the hold down bolts are hit by the air flow just like your stock intake has where the other 2 don't have that problem. The AST looks like it has 3 port to install other things so that is a big plus if you want to run guages or want to add propane to your engine.

The outside isn't the important part, the inside is the money maker.

The CFM+ has the smoothest airflow of the 3. Besides, you can also get it in the Carbon Fiber look if you want.

Those other 2 have a lot of turbulence makers (including the aluminum castings themselves) to disrupt airflow.

From a pure performance perspective, go with the CFM+.

I choose the CFM I read a very technical eval of this intake, especially about it's great material science and some of the best thermal properties. Also I saw it as low as ~$285. that's a great price. I've looked up the Banks and other's nobody came in better. I'll see if I can find the links again. Good luck. [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

Believe it or not I researched them a while back and would go with the CFM+ apparentely you can go TO BIG and the Banks actualy created a low pressure pocket that caused it to do worse than the CFM. ATS & AFE were a very close second though. I still aven't decided which one I want.

Where did you find it for $285...!?

I know Steve is very happy with his intake, although i can't remeber if he has the ATS or the AFE. I always get those two confused.

Aero Ram http://www.klmstore.com/index.asp?Pa...=15&Page=1These are the best prices I have seen up to this time on these parts. Here is some of the technical stuff, this is by far the best intake I have seen. http://www.xtremediesel.com/index.as...mp;ProdID=1635 . There was another place I read about this intake I just can't fined it right now. Good luck! [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

Try this link, they testedATS, AFE and CFM+one right after the other on a DYNO.
