Personally I think the .gov and the ATF should stay the **** out of most situations, since they would rather ruin law abiding citizens lives, then to really focus on the REAL problems at hand...

See this : http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.htm...5&t=709427

And if you look around you will see many cases about the abuse of power of the ATF.

Good thing there the ones that are suppose to be defending our Constitutional Rights!

HEY GUYS!!!

keep 1 thing in mind here.

when the majority stop talking about firearms, the "evil" ones win.

keep this subject at the top, our rights will be spared

when its forgotten, thats when they slip in from the back and knife you.

Lou Dobbs has been talking about this case. Hopefully it will be overturned on appeal.

When they came to arrest him, He didn't open fire on the ATF, had he done that I'd have no sympathy.

I honestly woulda understood if he did, I would in no way condone it since its a sure way to screw yourself and your family, but honestly wtf has America come to where the ATF has a full blown SWAT raid on the guys house, take all of his weapons and whatever else they deem "questionable" which btw who are they to decide that but since they make up there own rules, I guess it has its perks. Then they say that the weapon is not a machine gun, but they make sure to "test" it until it doubled ( using the ammo loaded with light primers that caused the malfunction ) since using the correct ammo that the gun was intended for never once caused it to malfunction! But hey thats cool, thank god we got him off the streets, honestly whew! Glad the judges and whatnot dismissed any positive evidence that coulda helped...well wait not coulda, 100% absolutely would have shown that nothing was illegal.

Then if you look more on the site, you will see the recent raid to Cav Arms, where the ATF accused them of laundering money among other things? ( I think that was one of the charges, I haven't read anymore of the news and cant recall it 100% so don't hold me to that. ) But then once again raided Cav Arms, took all of there weapon stock, personal weapons, etc....then never charged them with any crime, but that didnt stop the ATF from posting a ad in a NY newspaper advertising the Selling of all of the confiscated weapons. So in summery the ATF raided them, took all of there stock, personal weapons and whatever else, didnt charge them with anything, and then is now in the process of trying to sale it all...make sense?

I must sound like some die hard Christan Conservative, but im not, just a regular person that is watching the .gov slowly take away our constitutional rights. And all the wile the majority of the people in America would be praising the ATF and whatnot for taking these dangerous people off the streets, because there so misinformed / brainwashed by the stupidest **** on TV, like American Idol, and dumb **** on MTV, that they no longer have a grasp on whats going on in the world nor do they care....hey atleast they got there new jay-z cd, thank god for that!

Makes me sick.

Perhaps if the guy who spent 20 years in the military had hired several expert witnesses which bill at about 10,000 dollars each; he possibly could have persuaded the jury of his peers (yeah right) that it was an accident.

I imagine the jury was given specific instructions to ignore if it was an accident or not. They probably told them, you are to judge if the guy in question had in his possession a weapon that was select fire. Broken or not.

I'm very familiar with the AR-15 platform. A damaged disconnector spring will allow the weapon to double. Particularly if you're using the AR-15 bolt carrier that doesn't have a shrouded firing pin. If the disconnector is damaged, the hammer will ride the bolt home and cause what is known as a slam fire. If you weaken the disconnector spring, or damage the engagement, it will do this.

Here's a lesson, never shoot at ranges.

lucky are those who can find a place to shoot that is not a range... i have no such place to go have fun. they've pretty much made it illegal to shoot anywhere near where i'm at unless you have private land, of which i do not

woli: ar-15's aren't generally full auto, and neither are mine. i have 2, this one by bushmaster, and another by Rock River Arms. both are suppliers to US military, but both of mine are semi-auto. i can get the full auto's here in texas, but they have to have been made before 1986, i would have to procure a class 3 tax stamp, and the gun itself would cost several thousands...
Actually, it only takes 3 parts to convert what you have right there to auto. No need to spend thousands. If you have the class 3, you can buy the parts.

Auto or burst sear, sear spring and new disconnector for the two sears (Semi and burst / auto)

That is THE only difference in our M16/M4's than any civilian model you get.

My personal shorty is built 100% better than a mil spec one.

I spec'd every part on it and had DPMS build it for about $1500. That's the whole rifle, w/a heavy, chromed and chryo'd barrel, Surefire free floating handguards, A4 upper, 6 position stock, yadda, yadda, yadda.

It is, without a doubt, the most accurate AR style rifle I've ever shot.
