Mine has been doing this for 3+ years and I still haven't found the cause. I gave up trying. I figured when it finally breaks I'll know what to fix.

Might be loose tracbar or loose top nut on front shocks. My tracbar was loose a few months back right after I had my blocks put on and it made a poping noise. I also had a Dakota that had a loose top shock nut and it would do what you say yours is doing. Just two things to check.

Mine is a bear to steer tight in 4 wheel drive, so when pull stumps I go in and out of 4wd to line up on the next target, or the truck will rock a little and fight the turn if in 4wd.

Acts like it has a locker in the front on tight turns but just going down a trail or out in the woods in 4x4 seems fine

wheels bind up if it's u joints, if you have steering control, I doubt it's ball joints.

Front wheel bearing or booth wheel bearings could be seazing up, it might be worth it to get the front drive axle of the ground, and turn the front wheels by hand ( transmission in N)

I has a bearing go on my 2500 Ram, it'svbasically the hub.
