Default Tapping for EGT sensor

Ok, I FINALLY got a tap for the EGT sensor... Thing is, the manual doesn't say what threads per inch to use. I bought a 1/8" NPT with 27 threads per inch. Is this the right one? I'm not gonna take the drill to it until I know for sure. Any insight would be greatly appricated!

That sure sounds right. Let me go see if the one I used has any markings on it. I know it was the 1/8th npt, just not sure on the threads

Mine has 1/8 - 27 NPT stamped on it. I'll let you be the judge, but I'd say that's the one you need.

1/8"NPTF with a R(0.339) drill bit
1/4"NPTF with a 7/16" drill bit

Important must use NPTF = national pipe thread FINE

you can also see if the threads of the bushing match with those of the tap see if they match, by laying one on the other.

That's weird, mine is definitly the fine thread, but it didn't have the F stamped on it.

On my ISSPRO gauges it isa 1/8" 27 tpi npt. Are you going to remove the turbo? I just loosened the four bolts enough to slide a pieceof a minilla folder through. When I was done drilling and tapping I used a shop vac to clean the area and wha la, no shaving in the turbo.

Here is a nice wrote up and what I used for a reference.

http://www.dieselmanor.com/diy/CMS3-...ugeinstall.htm

It took me a while longer to drill mine out doing it the way they reccommed with starting with a TINY drill bit and going a few thousandths at a time. But the only thing you literally get out is DUST, no big shavings or anything like that. No I did not remove the turbo.
