Default Spare tires?

I don;t have an extra 37" tire for my long trip for memorial day weekend. I know that it would be bad on the diffs if I put one of my old tires on with the 37's on the other 3 corners, if I rode like that for an extended amount of time. As long as it was a simple flat I probably could make it by with one of my old tires just to get somewhere to plug it (assuming I did't plug it on the side of the rode). But I can't stop thinking about what would happen if I had a complete blow out and was 500 miles from home with only 3 37's?

Here is the question, If I put 2 of originals on one axle and had 37's still on the other axle, can Icruise for an extended amount of time like that... as long as I keep in in 2wd of course? If it won't hurt anything then I will throw 2 of my originals on the trailer with the four-wheelers.

thanks guys!

The spare could only go on the front axle and then you can't use 4wd. If you get a flat on the rear you will have to take a good 37 from the front and put it on the rear then put the small spare on the front.

More importantly, where ya going riding? What kind of quads do you have? This was the first year my daughter had her own qaud and you can't get her off of it! I ride a Polaris Predator 500, the wife has a Honda 250EX and a Kawasaki FX50 for my daughter. Great family fun!

Thanks wolly!

I ride at Cloud9ranch in caufield missouri. It is 6000 acres, private atv park. You have to buy a membership and then pay monthy dues, but it is worth it if you live close enough. I just sold my old fourwheeler and picked up my new one today... 07 (left over new) honda foreman 500 4x4 electric shift camo .... it looks fun, haven;t got to ride it yet though [&:].

Savage..........I've always thought that due to the abs brake system, all the tires have to be the same. Now in a pinch, ya do what ya have to do. Guess in a perfect world ( ya right? ), all tires shoud be the same.

My dually has those bases covered, but I still went to the expense of a spare 19.5.

Savage what size were your prev tires, if they were 35" then you wont hurt much at all on a regular road. But bringing two old ones would be better, den yous be lookin likes you be tryin to hang wit da brothas. LOL.
Why didnt you buy a spare? Even bigriver bough a spare and his truck already runs on 12 tires.

You could just bring the fix a flat crap but if your tread seps or sidewall fails your SOL. I just got another nail in the same damn smog as I previously did so i still had it plugged and put on my spare, tires are about shot but have a 1,000 mile trip coming up so I figured keeping that 2 nail tire as a spare could help. Got 32k miles in em, would like to hit 40k.

Made of money????? come on man, I'm just made of years of hard work. Close to 34 years on the water, and was lucky enough to make it to the top of my trade.

Actually I'm heading out the door in a few minutes in this dead of night, to catch a loaded tanker that may fill someone's tank with that precious diesel we all seek.

Yeah, I spend some on my ride, but I do live conservitively. It's ok savage, glad your thinking positively of me and the ride.

ugh yeah those would really make yer truck look funny, though you had 35"s before.
Hey if ya learn how to pilot 70-100,000 ton container ships up and down the mighty miss you can afford that spare to.

Thanks to the mighty miss all the coast line west of it looks like crap, the gulf flows counter clockwise so all that sludge and gunk flows west, that's how you can have just about the whites beach in NA, destin fla and then have the crappy beaches in Texas.

I live right on the mississippi. Matter a fact I just spent the last few hours at a bar on the miss in grafton Il called the loading dock... The mississippi is already a dump by the time it reaches me, here in Alton IL. There are a few (emphasis on few) people that ski in it here, I would be leary to even put my boat in that sick water (if I had one).
