detriot diesel makes engines. They are now apart of allison transmissions so Detriot Allison. Not sure on the chevy iszuzu thing. Navistar bought international so they are the same company. Ford uses international engines so the powerstroke is just an international with a few ford parts stuck on it.

Navistar is a division of international, power stroke is just the name ford gave the diesel engine. Dodge didnt want to do a cover up name. . . Chevy used to do the 350 block, but then they did name their own diesel in house, we still use them at the shop I work at. Chevy went to Isuzu cause they could supply engines for a better price than what they could produce them on their own.

Detriot diesel I believe is owned by GM. they just produce engines.

Yes Detroit was owned by GM, but is now owned by Daimler AG as a part of its Daimler trucks division which includes Freightliner, Sterling Trucks, and Western Star. And technically the old 6.2L and 6.5L engines in the GM trucks were Detroits, as GM still owned Detroit at the time and they used Detroit to design them, although they were pretty much exclusive to GM trucks and motorhomes.
