Do you realize how stupid that sounds????

We're arguing over a few off topic posts......which is about as stupid as it gets.."

I guess when there post count goes way down, since this is one of the more active sections, and it starts costing them ad dollars they may change there mind. Since there are so few issues with my truck, the only reason why I really come here is comraderie I guess I will go back to my hermit ways, espically after looking at the OT section what a bunch of crap "I asked my black friend why he supports Obama".
And guess what, those posts are there because its OFF TOPIC. They have no reason to be somewhere in a subsection for a truck or car because they have nothing to do with Dodge or a member of this site....it's purely opinion.

There were other sections that are BIGGER then the CTD section that also lost their OT privileges....and while they werent happy, they got over it.... as will 99% of you guys as well....

I just love how some of you are trying to make this like you are so much better then other people......and all that does is make you look worse...

Do "I" realize how stupid that sounds.

I'm bringing a completely valid point to the discussion and you make up bogus stuff about the color of his truck or his ethinic preferences. Stupid?........you can be the judge of that.

And, I never said his opinion didn't matter. What I said matters is what happens when you get folks of different mentalities in a given area, especially when the opinions are highly differentiated.

Prime example. In the OT section RIGHT DAMN NOW, there is post about gun control. Who's the first person that jumps in and says not to go this route? Oh, one of the mod's. WHY? Because this has been discussed before and causes isssues. WHY? Because it's in an area that is comprised of people of widely varying mentalities.

How many of those types of conversations have we had in the CTD section? TONS! It's actual a pretty regular subject in here. Why does it go well? Because most of us have very similar beliefs and opinions.

That's the problem with moving things to the OT area. Many of the topics are not intended for a broader audience.

Devils reject,
Only one person has made any comment about us being better than anybody else, and he was just being a smart a#$. I know that most people in this part of the forum do not feel that they are better than anybody else. This is a place where a lot of us come to have discussions about numerous topics with people that share a lot of the same views, and are the same type of people, working professionals. If someone posts something off topic in this section it is usually something that most of us are concerned about, or can laugh about. As I said earlier most of us DON'T PLAY WELL OTHERS and this is a spot where we can fit in with other people.

But see, you didnt get the point.... The point was that you're telling another member his opinion doesnt matter....despite the fact that he's a CTD owner. In fact, padodgeram and I disagree on ALOT of things....but he's also a very blunt and honest guy, which is why I agreed with him. You also made an assumption that because his daily driver is a gasser, that he has nothing to do with the CTD section...

But you did say his opinion didnt matter because he's not "involved" in it....which he clearly stated to not be the case....

The issue with OT is the same thing it has always been....1 of 2 reasons:
1.)people have their opinions and dont like being told they are wrong.
2.) people come in trying to make their opinion the only one that is right.

The truth is if more people were willing to talk without getting wound up and angry/stupid, we wouldnt even be having this disagreement. We'd be having a beer, laughing at some dumb ****, and having fun. Unfortunately, that's not the case...

I can agree with this statement to a certain extent, but I could make the case for this arguement in a variety of other ways as well. I could say that people under 18 shouldnt be driving, or people who arent 25 shouldnt be having kids etc.... it's all a matter of opinion and the way you view things....

Honestly, despite what you might think, I do see your side of it and I do agree with you on some issues.

The truth however is that some of you share that same thought...and you just stated it yourself. You dont play well with others.....so because you dont....you should get special treatment? We have bikers who dont even get special treatment at HDForums, and trust me....you guys have SQUAT on them guys.....hell even our SRT-4 section is just as bad as you guys (We're not Neons, we're different).

Again, no one here is trying to stop you from having fun.....or having those friendships/conversations/etc.... all we're doing is moving a few posts....

My point is that if we are not causing problems, our OT is not turning into fights we should be left alone. You admin. guys seem to be forgetting that this sight is set up for us. I understand that it is a way for someone to make money, but you make it off selling ad space on our posts.

You are right, we do make money off this site....however I'm not involved in that process. This was an admin decision. I can practically guarantee that decision will not change. Perhaps when the new forum software is installed, that may change. For now, it will not...
