Do not belong in the Cummins section. We have an Off Topic section specifically for this very reason. The moderators have been told to move Off Topic posts to Off Topic, that includes your section moderators.

As to who's been moving some posts, it could be anyone. I personally moved all the retarded quit moving OT post threads today. These have no reason being in the section, and as such, are being moved. If you have a complaint, you PM or Email an Administrator and take it up with them.

Part of the problem with Off Topic is that too many people start playing the bashing game with people. Who the hell cares if you dont like 24" rims, you have no right to make fun of or trash people because of it. Do I make fun of you because you have a lift and get 12 mpg? No, I do not. Perhaps if people would learn to get along with other people, we wouldnt have this issue. Instead, we have adults acting like damn 12 yr olds.

If you dont like the rules, then leave. We honestly do not need the hassle and stupidity in fighting over something this retarded. Last time I checked, this was a Dodge Forum, not the Dodge Off Topic Forum. Your section doesnt deserve special treatment because you drive a CTD. We tried allowing sections to have OT and it got out of hand. We stopped it all together. I'm sorry if you dont like it or you feel like your section deserves what have you.

The rules are very simple, and we ask that you abide by them. If you feel you cannot, we're sorry to see you go.

I'll be more then happy to discuss this with anyone who keeps the conversation adult. If you want to act stupid, I'm more then happy to oblige as well....

Seems to me like everyone in the cummins section liked it just the way it was, the people in the cummins section are kind of a "click" and enjoy talking with one other, seems to me someone had the bright idea to make a change to something that was working just fine to start with.

Hey, I dont like that we have to do this, unfortunately we have to make it fair to everyone on the forum. Like I said in my post above, we tried to allow the sections to have their OT, but it got really bad out of hand. The Cummins section has always been one of our best sections, both in members and in posts, but if we make an exception once, then we're going to deal with more crap.
It worked well here for you guys, but that's one section out of how many?

We're simply stating that purely off topic posts need to go in the appropriate section. If it's diesel related, I dont see a reason why they cant stay here. Obviously, something about oil prices doesnt need to be here.

Again, I'm sorry that some of you are upset by this. If you want to blame someone, you should take a good long look at all of your fellow members, to include the CTD section. Some of the very complaints you have about other sections/Off Topic, are the very same ones they voice about you. We have a very diverse membership, and some very strong, opinionated ones too. That doesnt make any of us always right or always wrong.

Sure, I see crap on the forum that annoys me, but I dont see a need to post in it all the time. If its out of line, I deal with it likea moderator should. If you see stuff like this, REPORT IT!!!! By doing that, it cuts down on the very crap some of you are complaining about. Perhaps if conversations could remain civil, we wouldnt have to move all the posts that turn racist, stupid, or plain out of hand with all the arguing....

devil didnt follow this statement about some of the complaints we have about off topic are what others are complaining about the ctd guys ( sorry on iPhone so can't copy paste) are people in OT complaining that theres a para-off topic in ctd?

You also mention that a lot of OT posts get out of hand, I would say percentage wise there are far more posts in OT that get out of hand (yes I know I do prolly **** off a lot of people on here because im a gun totin anti illegal immigration Texan) I think one reason why ctd has their para OT is because they know eachother far better than the rest of the forum, why would 12 volt or midnight give a damn about kev getting a divorce (salt to a wound), jimmy selling his rig, woli having yet another girl... Now all beit the only sections I'm in are second and third gen, ctd, ot, NASCAR and off road. And I would say this group is more mature than the other guys in the other groups. And with a more mature section you can have OT posts about the election without it going, obamas a black Muslim that wants to tear down America, Hillary is a b!tch and mccain can't remember who our allies are.

Was there a complaint by someone for ctd having ots or did the admin send out a message to the mods to clean it up?

Whew iPhone almost died, would have pissed me off.

I remember when I first started posting in ctd there was a thread about whats wrong with this forum (meaning ctd has gotten slow), this is by far not a technical website, we have a few people that are very knowledgable and them some that are smart in certain areas, mine being the *** part in smart ***. But if only tech related posts were the only ones that were on here people would check the ctd section less often and then more likely to miss a poster that needs help with something that they know a lot about or just take longer for a question to be answered.

And if I'm elected president the beers free.

If we are forced to keep the off topic stuff in the off topic section the CTD section will surely die down. See yall later.

The issue with Off Topic was across the entire board, not just the Cummins section. This really didnt have anything to do with posts in the CTD section to begin with. However, because we have to make it FAIR, we have to do approach the rules the same EVERYWHERE.

I personally see no reason why semi-off topic posts cant stay. Things like your friends having a kid or getting a new bike....those are okay in my book. The things like political, religious, etc....those need to stay in the OT section.

One last thing..... by keeping to yourselves, you do a great disservice to your fellow board members. Not only do they not get the chance to get to knowyou, but you could be missing out on some good times, great knowledge, and some good friends. Not everyone buys a CTD, but several want one.....others may not want a CTD, but like them.... the point is, because you dont affiliate with other sections a whole lot....they never get the chance to get to know you...and vice versa..

I disagree......because the only things that really need to stay in Off Topic are purely OFF TOPIC POSTS.... things like religion, politics, building things, etc.... if your talking trucks, then your fine.... a board member has a new kid....share that with not just your friends, but the whole board....you'd be surprised...

When I had my daughter, I didnt think anyone would say much of ****..... I was wrong.......and all you have to do is really try. We're not trying to cut down on the fun or ruin the board, but we are trying to eliminate the constant b.s....

devil I'm not gonna drag this on so don't feel obligated to reply

But enacting this rule for the whole forum because of some other areas of this forum is bad management, you don't punish all areas of your company because one area isn't performing well. I'm not at Paris island where the whole unit gets more PT while the guy that F's up gets to sit by and watch. I can't virtually "train" another member to not be an ***.

As for the diversification and meeting new members I'm sure theres pleanty of members that wish they never met ramitone.

Casual dialogue between tech posts are helpfull in establishing relationships and theres far too many members to get to know everyone.
