Easy there, EVERYONE who is familiar with this section knows that was a JOKE. Maye not the kind you like, but a joke non the less. This is exactly the kind of response we try to avoid by keeping things here where we can take off color humor and laugh about it.

Just so we're clear, I'm not pissed at you for misunderstanding. I just wanted to make it clear.
That's just it Nick....a few people understood it.... but a majority of people reading that WOULDNT!!!!! That's the exact type of attitude that some of the very people in this thread have posted that they cant stand.....

I understand it was sarcasm...and that's cool. You have to remove yourself from the situation and think about how others will respond. Just because your a CTD owner, doesnt mean everyone in this section agrees/views things the same...

Wow...I haven't been on for a few days and it looks like things blew up around here. I actually read all 7 pages of posts and first off, Devil, much appreciation from this guy on taking the bullets most folks are sending your way and still replying to their concerns. I realize your job must suck right now.

It does suck that it's come to this, I hate when a few people ruin it for everyone else. Every group/hobby/team/place of work has them. I don't spend a ton of time on the forum and when I do, it's usually just the CTD section. I have ventured down to Off topic to read many times and posted down there a time or two. For me, it's to chaotic (for lack of a better term.) To many people, all with a different views and just random posts that I usually don't care about.

From what's being said, things shouldn't change a whole lot in terms of posts being moved. I really hope that's the case. I enjoy the fact it's mainly the same folks viewing the posts and because of that, we feel a connection with those people. Some of the posts that have been posted in our section would have been completely lost in Off Topic, being read and replied to by people we don't have that connection with. Not saying they are bad people or they don't care, there just not people we know. It would be similar to telling a whole department or office where you work about something personal. It's not that they don't care or are bad people, you'd just rather keep it to the few people you are comfortable with. I kind of view the individual OT topics in each section the same way.

Again, Devil, thanks for the acknowledgement and responses. Hopefully everything will cool off and we can resume normal posting. It will be interesting to see how everything plays out. Who stays and who goes.....

aka_chewy: Much thanks man, you guys deserve answers, and I am one who tries to make sure you get them.... even when they arent the nicest ones...

You guys all know your mods in the Ram sections. You know most of them are very good people who are laid back and down to earth. These guys are the ones who will be handling the issues. Unfortunately this had to occur over a major holiday weekend, and that was unfortunate. I truely believe as we move forward, your concerns will lessen. The only real reason this created a problem was that no one was given a warning and that no one understood it. I do apologize for that, because it would have been easier to create a post to explain it. I wasnt involved with it, but in the future, we'll try to address that...

If you ever truly feel a problem exists, a post shouldnt have been moved, or you just want to discuss something, please by all means contact me... I'll be more then happy to discuss and listen.

Not to be a smart ***, but isnt this considered an OT thread?

I think the best way to solve the problem (ignore me if its been covered, I didn't feel like reading 50 million pages), is to make a chat room for the Cummins goers. Allows the group to discuss OT subjects with one another, yet keeping the OT posts out of the Cummins section.

It seems that some people think that we move OT posts to OT just to hassle people?

The technical sections on this site are for technical discussions pertaining to a given vehicle. I understand that some of you hang out pretty much only in your section, but some people visit the site just for technical information and not to "hang out", so for those people, it becomes a hassle to sort through off topic posts to find technical information.

Before you say it, youre right...its only a couple posts. But over time, those posts grow in numbers and after a while its hard to find the good technical information because of the clutter in the tech section. While this seems like an extreme example, Ive been doing this for 5 years and Ive tried lots of different things are various sites, and allowing endless OT posts in tech sections eventually leads to people complaining that they cannot find anything. The moderators are only enforcing a rule that has existed as long as this forum.

Some people seem to talk like we have added a bunch of new rules or something. We have not added anything, but lately there seems to be more OT posts in tech sections, so they are being moved more often. Posts that can relate in any way to the model at hand can stay in the section, but when someone makes a thread with a title like "OT-NFL", that has nothing to do with any vehicles, and the fact that the original poster put OT in the title, there is no reason why that post shouldnt be going on in OT, and in most cases, it already is.

We are just trying to keep the sections cleaned up to keep tech sections devoted to tech info, and the OT stuff is out of the way.
