Confused... I need help! *Hey Drew, got a question*
hey now axle size doesn't mean anything, its who's bigger when you lay it out on the tailgate. Haha
I figured you meant pints. Youll want the oil to be warm when you change it as the stuff in the back part of the pumpkin that stays on will drip out instead of staying in there. You may want to reroute your rear breather into your bed. You know where ou tie down points are, that hollow tube, just drill into that from the rear and run it up into that. Then youd for sure be out of trouble with water.
No matter how big the teeth are you can still get metal fatigue and a small chip will lead to a bigger chip, while they are machined with a micrometer theres still a chance of it screwing up.

The local amsoil guy came through for me, so i weant ahead and got the stuff from him. It was Sever Gear 75W-90 gear oil for the front and rear axles. You can go to www.amsoil.com and see what to use for your specific vehicle, it maybe different for your truck (not surewhat you are driving, due to a lack of sig
).
Tomorrow, I am definitely gonna relocate the the breathers and get some type of little filter for them from the auto parts store. I may even get a filter that has a water resistent cover or something. I am also going to trim a little on my mopar fender flares, cause I was flexing hard enough to rub them this last weekend, and I still need to change the fuel filter. I got the filter, but I am still a little unsure as to "bleed" the fuel system, but I am sure there is a DIY on it
.
Here is a pic of the oil running out of the housing, you can clearly see the clear/white liquid running out also...

I wiped my finger through it in this picture so you can see that it was actually a liquid running out and not just some sort of glare/shadow/or mark on the inside of the housing. Whatcha think??...

that doesnt look like too much water. When I changed my old CJ's oil after sinking it in some water, it looked like chocolate milk. I just rinsed it out with a little diesel and filled it up with gear oil. I think you'll be okay.
Did I post the link for the breather on this post? At the river drinking so dont want to reread the threads. I think if you relocate it where I said theres pretty much no chance for water to get in.
I have no room left in my sig because of AZs post.

Yep, smells great!!
I still don;t know why the gear oil has so much more of a smell than like regualr engine oil.
I might have assumed that it was over filled because of the extra water in there also, but if that was the case it seems like I should still be able to get a little over 4 quarts back in there?... no what I mean?
