It looks like you might have missed that catch pan judging by that pic

Ahhhh!!!! Catch Pan?!!... how come nobody mentioned this before? . Opps. Well, Iguess I will take it back open and do it again. The water sits underneath the oil right?.. so if there was any water in there, the catch pan probably is full of water?..

On a side note, I fianlly got it to hold that extra quart....

No chocks? No tow rope on the hitch to another truck?
you've got a lot of faith in your parking break.
If I have to change the tire or get to my front diff I always put a big ol limestone rock behind a tire.

RamItOne- It dosen't look like it, but the front tires are in a little ditch. The truck wasn't rolling forward without theparking brake on but I put it on anyway .

Burban- Technically I think that is "on topic" .

Is there one of these "catch pans in the front diff housing as well?.. if so I guess I should redo that one also. By the time I buy all this oil twice, I could have had the dealer do it and spent the same amount of money. Somehow I still think they would have done a worse job though .

the water was most likely do the high water crossing and the rear vent tube being submerged.

believe Mayfair was talkin bout that dewhicky that the oil drains into.

There's an engine oil that you can pour out into your grass when youre done with it and it won't hurt it. Its all natural. I emailed the company asking for the details (ball bearing wear test, flash point, fire point etc) never got a reply back.

OK, now I know I am confused. Drew was talking about a "well" in the bottom of the case, which I didn't notice before, but I can sort of see in the pics. I thought mayfair was talking about the same thing.

Drew-
Is there actually a "well" in the bottom of the case that I needed to reach in a scoop out and then wipe dry and rinse with clean oil?
If so:
-is there also one in the front diff housing?
-Should I change the oil again since I didn't get all of the bad out, especially if there is potentially water in it?

thanks man-

I would run that oil a bit to help flush everything out. I'd say after 100 miles check it and see what it looks like and dump the oil if necessary.
