Another thing that should help lower prices of diesel is (don't hold your breath though) that refineries are finally gearing up to be able to make diesel out of sour crude instead of only being able to make itout of sweet crude. I heard an economist say that is a huge reason why diesel prices are so high. There is a low supply of sweet crude on the market right now thanks to China and India, and diesel can only be made from sweet crude. Gasoline on the other hand can be made from sour or sweet crude.
I did some math work not long ago.. .the difference between my driving beasty and yoda is only $30/mo<\\;IMG src="\\;https://dodgeforum.com/image/s13.gif"\\;>\\;
I think you need to sharpen your pencil and try again. I am saving over $50 a week in fuel costs by driving the yoda and parking the trucks. I use 1 tank a week.
You guys can thank me for the drop in fuel prices. It's because I just bought a 97 nissan sentra to commute with. Having a hard time driving by the cummins in the driveway on the way to work though. I estimated that I will be saving around $70 a week. Car will have a payback of about 5 months including purchase price and insurance. Fuel was steady for a few weeks at $4.85 but dropped last night to $4.79 right when the car was put on the road. I believe OPEC is watching me.
