Default Water Injection?

Is anyone using a water injection system? I’ve considered the ATS WaterBoy set-up they claim a 70hp gain... If anyone has this or something similar I would like to talk to you about it. Things like what mpg gains or changes, power difference, and as far as I know you can run it constantly like a programmer? I’ve got a lot to learn about this I&amp\\;nbsp\\;welcome any input I can get!

The Waterboy is programmable. Well, actually you adjust the 3 screws to have each stage kick in at certain EGT levels. Thats its biggest use is to cool the EGTs. How long it lasts on each depends on your driving. It has a switch to activate it. The light goes different colors as each stage is activated based on the EGTs that you set it for.

You cant run it like that, you would just drain the water tank. Its only for momentary use to keep the EGTs down. The power gains come from being able to push more fuel and keep it all cool. It more for drag racing and sled pulling than it is for mileage. The tank is only a little more than a gallon.

Well a friend told me of a&nbsp\\;truck down here that has a hydrogen injection but I haven't ever ran into him to ask him about his set-up... I guess he has a hydrogen genorator in it? He doesn't has a storage tank in it and claims he gets 30mpg. Know anything about that kinda set-up?

Dude's running around with a nuclear bomb in his truck.........

That hydrogen gen crap is a bunch of hockus pockus.

2 gallons in, 1 gallon out is what I've "heard". Never seen anyone / anything with it, so who knows.

If you want a setup that will net better mileage, look into a propane system. Not nitrous, propane. It works on the same kind of setup as the water, except it's actually fuel. It comes on with throttle position, compared to EGT's.

That you can run all the time and it only kicks in when you arm it and it's activated by enough throttle.

The increased gain in MPGs won't make up for the cost of propane. The propane injection would only be good if you are going to use it as a performance tool.

It depends how it's getting used. The propane is almost $2 cheaper than diesel is.

No, it doesn't have the same power output as diesel, but used as a supplement it can help MPG.

I'm not talking Save The Whales / Feed The Children amounts of help.
