Well let's try this again. Say the good service life of your rig is 150k miles. And the foreign car is 200k
buy the truck for 30-35k, the car for 15k. You finance them for 60 months, and you split the driving 50/50, so 10k and 10k. Once the financing period is over your truck will only have 50k miles (vs 100k) and the car will have 50k as well.

We now carpool the jeep more often around base and sometimes I ride my bicycle to work. Matter of fact I will begin doing it more often. I am like alot of these guys. I bought the truck for its longevity and power and not much will make me get rid of it. Just ajust how much I drive it.

I tow a trailer to car shoes with my CTD 2500 4X4 sometines a 12 footer wuth 1 car some times a 27 footer with 2 cars, and my "kiddie car" !
I drive mt PT Cruiser back and forth to work ( I a die-hard MOPAR guy) at almost 30 MPG, but it won't haul a trailer in thr Pa. mountains! I'll never "give up" the truck, but have cut back on the non-nessassary type of driving it!
